The NCCB received the head of the Cameroonian Delegation, Mr Luc Magloire MBARGA ATANGANA - Minister of Trade at the NCCB Pavillion in Brussels as the NCCB joined a powerful delegation of Cocoa stakeholders from Cameroon during the just ended 5th edition of The World Cocoa Congress.

Recall that The World Cocoa Conference is the leading event for the global cocoa and chocolate sector, bringing together all the stakeholders of the cocoa value chain – governments, cocoa farmers, cooperatives, exporters, traders, manufacturers, brands, retailers, financial institutions, logistics companies, international aid and development agencies, academics, etc from across the world to exchange views and identify solutions for the sustainability of the sector.

On the 23rd of April, NCCB General  Manager, Mr. Michael Ndoping also sat on the panel to discuss "Farmer Income and Social Responsibility in Cocoa Farming". Key on the agenda included:

  • Root causes of low farmer income: Land tenure, low yields, unfair prices, and unethical practices.
  • Identifying past shortcomings: Analyze what hasn't worked in improving farmer well-being.
  • Charting a new course: Explore effective strategies to ensure a sustainable and equitable cocoa sector.
