University of Ngaoundere: NCCB to install coffee shops on campus

The General Manager of the National Cocoa and Coffee Board, Mr. Michael Ndoping has revealed that a Coffee shop booth will be implanted on the campus of the University of Ngoundere.

The declaration was made, Wednesday July 14, 2022 during an official visit in the company of an NCCB delegation comprising Mr Nana Abdoulaye, Assistant General Manager and Mr Wangbitchin Gilbert, Director of International Cooperation and Produce Valorization.

Outlining his vision to Prof. Florence Uphe Chinje Melo, Rector of the University of Ngaoundere, Mr Ndoping said the programme is part of government's policy to  promote local consumption of made in Cameroon.

For NCCB, the project entails implanting Coffee consumption points in Government Ministries , Airports, Universities and public places.

"Our visit to the University of Ngaoundere was to present the blueprint of the Coffee booth to the Rector and her team. With over 30.000 students, this University is a very promising un-exploited market especially since this project also aims at encouraging youths to consume Cameroon Coffee and chocolate".  Mr Ndoping said.

The delegation also made a tour on campus, and visited proposed sites to harbour the booths.

With the University's Institute of Technology (IUT) already involved in small-scale chocolate processing, the team visited their quality control laboratory and chocolate processing Unit.

The General Manager and the Rector both expressed their desire to explore possibilities for a fruitful partnership between both establishments in the future.

The Coffee booths are expected to go operational early next year.
